Building a Movement
Despite popular media depictions, veterans do not exist in a "bubble." From rural communities and big cities, from those who were "grunts" to officers, veterans have become a fabric of daily American life. For that reason, Vet Voice Foundation will ensure that veterans' voices have no boundaries either.
To do this, Vet Voice Foundation is building a national network of 21st century veterans. Using a combination of new technologies and social media tools - as well as traditional organizing methods - VVF is identifying, educating and mobilizing a new generation of veterans.
Over the past decade, technology and public policy advances have been fast and fierce. Just as email lists supplanted direct mail to a good degree, new communications tools are becoming just as important as a good email or phone list. With these technologies developing more every day, it is crucial that VVF's effort stay right at the crest, and it will. By aggressively employing these new tools, such as Facebook and Twitter, VVF organizers can easily reach large numbers of 21st century veterans.
In addition to new technologies, VVF relies on traditional methods of organizing. VVF's organizers - themselves 21st century veterans - are continually expanding outreach efforts across the country, through face-to-face meetings, phone contact, visits to colleges and universities, etc.
The combination of these strategies allows VVF connect with 21st century veterans, uniting and empowering their voices on vital issues for years to come.
